The file “SITEX10.EXE” is a freeware program which runs on PCs using Windows. IT IS NOT A MACINTOSH PROGRAM OR DOCUMENT!
Expander for Windows is similar to StuffIt Expander for Macintosh, in that it gives users an easy way to expand StuffIt archives and other compressed or encoded files, especially those found on the Internet.
Expander for Windows will expand files in the following formats: StuffIt (.sit), ZIP (.zip), uuencoded (.uue), BinHex (.hqx), MacBinary (.bin), ARC (.arc), Arj (.arj), and gzip (.gz). StuffIt Expander will also expand self-extracting archives created by StuffIt, ZIP, and Arj.
StuffIt Expander is 16-bit, but will run on 32-bit systems. However, it does not at this time support Windows 95 and Windows NT long files names.
You may give away StuffIt Expander for Windows, though commercial distribution is restricted. Please contact Aladdin’s Customer Service Department for details on commerical distribution of StuffIt Expander for Windows or Macintosh.

Installation Instructions
Copy the file SITEX10.EXE to a computer running Windows 3.1 or newer. Double-click the SITEX10.EXE file. The installer will provide instructions.

After Installation Caveat
StuffIt Expander for Windows has a feature where it will try to protect the resource fork of a Mac file when you UnStuff it by MacBinary-encoding it (this means attaching the resource and data forks of a Mac file into a single data file). As of 2/96, this feature is on by default. Unfortunately, this process will render the file unusable on the PC. If you want only the data fork of the file, and do not wish to preserve the Mac resource fork, you can turn this feature off. In the Cross Platform Options, look at the second section "Save Macintosh files in MacBinary format". Set this option to "never", then try to decompress your archive with Expander for Windows again. This should give you just the data fork of the Macintosh file which will be usable by a PC.
